Eliminate Toxicity

I got the inspiration to write this on the 5th of december 2016 at 12:05am.

I was on transit one day, when someone did something upsetting. Not to me, but to another road user. Unconsciously, I muttered the word "were" (meaning mad man in yoruba language). I am not yoruba by the way, And I have made it a habit not to speak the language even though I understand and write it well,so I was shocked at myself, because such words were not part of my vocabulary.

I searched my heart for a reason, and realised that subconsciously, due to constant exposure to the hustle and bustle of Lagos life, the daily routine of boarding public transportation and being exposed to so much negativity and rascality had made me unconsciously adopt such toxic language.

Eliminate Toxicity
This taught me a new lesson about live..."what you constantly expose yourself to, becomes an integral part of you most times without any conscious effort on your part.

Have you found yourself muttering the lyrics of a song without actually remembering when and where you learnt it? (well because every other day, whenever you tune on your TV or radio set, it is blaring repeatedly.)

Have you seen a little child making some dance moves that you are certain he/she was not taught? (Well the child saw some artists on TV making those moves)

The list is endless.

No wonder the bible admonishes us to "guard our hearts with all diligence for out of it flow the issues of life.." Prov 4:23. Also, 2 Cor 6vs17 says; "..come out from among them and be ye separate.."

Even in the church today, have you seen yourself becoming aggressive and embittered at the slightest provocation, due to toxic, envious, malicious people around you, who are not ready to serve God, and will stop at nothing to stop others from serving God?

DON'T LET TOXIC THINGS, PEOPLE, ENVIRONMENT separate you from God or make you someone you are not. Eliminate them from you... Roman 8:35;"who shall separate us from the love of God...?"
Surround yourself with positive vibes so that they can in turn rub off positively on you. Play inspiring music always, mind the kind of movies and books you read and watch, ABOVE ALL, ask the help of the HolySpirit.

I drop my pen at this juncture with these words; ELIMINATE TOXICITY
